My Work Baby Shower

I am so lucky to have such sweet coworkers. My nurse friends Doris,Norma,Pam and Jody put together the shower. Nurses have big hearts! I had a wonderful baby shower to celebrate Christy Lee. Almost everyone in the hospital stopped by and it was a lot of fun! It was so funny, we took a stretcher out the front door of the hospital to get the gifts to my car.

My Church Baby Shower

My friends from church had a combined baby shower for me and another Prego Maria who is due 2 days from me. The baby shower was wonderful with lots of pink beautiful presents! My favorite gift was a pink quilted blanket homemade from my friend Janell. I love it and it matches her room perfectly. The baby shower was a great surprise!

Prego 9 months...1 more week to go

We are all very excited about the arrival of Christy Lee. I can't believe she will be here in one week!

Flashback 1 year ago...

I was going through my old pictures and found these pictures I love from fall of last year. They were taken at the Albuquerque Zoo. I can not believe how much has changed in the past year. We are very blessed! Austin has grown into a smart and sweet preschooler! He has changed from my baby boy to Daddy's big kid. Which is perfect timing for the new arrival! We will be having our beautiful baby girl in one month!

Prego Problems

The home stretch is harder than I thought. The good news is that I am now 33 weeks prego and my baby girl in the belly is doing great. I am doing well too, but emotionally it has been a rollercoaster. I had 3 superficial blood clots in my right leg a couple of weeks ago and spent the night in an ER. Luckily I was sent to a perinatologist who is fabulous and she started me on aspirin and ran lots of labs on me. They found out that I have a clotting disorder called Protein S Deficiency. I now have to take Lovenox shots in my belly everyday. That is not so bad. But I worry too much about all the risks involved with the clotting disorder.

Prego Pictures

My First Trimester
How do I feel?

Happy to be prego! Very nervous in 1st trimester with placenta previa and bleeding. Relieved after lots of prayers and a wonderful blessing and no more bleeding. Thank goodness for a Mother in law who lives close by who helped watch my 3 year old Austin. I remember being nauseaus and hungry at the same time for about two months. Happy one second and crying the next! Definitely a rollercoaster of emotions!
Activities:
We enjoyed a trip to Corpus Christi to visit my brother. Austin loved the beach just like his Daddy. I loved visiting with my brother and eating the fresh fish that my brother caught and grilled for us!

After Corpus Christi I enjoyed visiting my hometown San Antonio! I saw some of my old Young Women friends at a reunion and that was awesome! I especially loved seeing my favorite teacher Suzanna. While in SA I got to visit with my Mom, Dad, Sister and sweet nephew Ethan.

My Second Trimester

How do I feel?

Very Happy! Very happy to find out that the baby is a girl! I think about her a lot and wonder what she will be like.
Activities:

I relax on a cruise with my husband while my wonderful parents watch Austin. I enjoy visiting with my Mom and Dad while they are in El Paso. I also took a trip to Dallas where I visited with lots of family. My sweet sister had a baby shower for Christy Lee while I was in Dallas. It was the best trimester for sure!

My Third Trimester
How do I feel? Very Tired and Big
Activities:
I pick up Austin from preschool and we do something special together. Then I turn on cartoons before his nap and fall asleep accidently on the couch. Then my son wakes me up every 30 minutes to ask if he can watch another cartoon before his nap. This goes on for at least 2- 3 cartoons. Then I drag myself off the couch and up the stairs to put him down for his nap. Ofcourse, I can not go back to sleep. I am wide awake and craving a snack, preferably something chocolate with a glass of milk. I am extremely hormonal! Sorry Babe!

In the evenings, I really enjoy my husband taking our son to the park. It is a great break for me! I lay down on the couch and watch one of my shows and enjoy feeling Christy Lee with her sweet kicks!

What do you get free when you look pitiful?

Guess What? Today I looked pitiful! I threw on some comfortable clothes, did not fix my hair or makeup and went to drop off my son to preschool. Here is a picture of the shirt I was wearing-it looks much worse on! On the way back I stopped at Discount Tire to replace the tire stems on my car because of a recall. Well, they tried to sell me 2 new tires and told me one of the tires really needed replaced and I said no. My husband just spent $1200 on repairs including a timing belt,ac and a lot of other repairs. We have 2 cars paid off and ofcourse they both went to the shop this week. Anyway, my husband told me, do not let them sell you new tires. So I said no and they said come back in an hour. Well, I went and got a pedicure next door and felt like a total scrub! All the women customers looked like they just left the salon and I felt like a bum. So I finished my pedicure and went to pick up my car and guess what? The nice guy at Discount Tire told me he replaced one of the tires for free because he could not in good conscience send a pregnant women home on that dangerous tire. I was sooo happy! We will definitely buy all our tires at Discount Tire. The morale of the story is sometimes it pays off to look pitiful! But, when I did get home you can believe I changed my clothes and fixed my hair before I left the house again!

My new niece Kristin

This is my sweet niece. I love her so much! I am looking forward to seeing Kristin and Christy Lee growing up together.

New Mexico Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

Austin and his friend Georgia(G.G.) had a blast playing together at the Corn Maze/Picnic Patch. Austin and G.G. rode down a hillside slide about 20 times. They ran up the hill the first ten times and by the last trip they were crawling up the hill. They loved every minute of it! My friend Jen(G.G.'s Mom)is very brave and took both kids down the slide on her lap in the beginning. Then we enjoyed sitting at a picnic table visiting in the shade. We all had a great time.

How does Austin feel about the new baby...

Austin is very excited about his sister. He kisses my belly a lot and asks about his new sister. He also likes to pick out stuff to buy his sister like binkies and teething toys. I think it will be a different story when she comes. Ahhh! I will no longer be the only child. We will see...

New Baby Christy Lee's room almost done....

I have had a blast decorating my Baby Christy Lee's new room! Girls are so much fun! I am so excited for Christy Lee to come....3 more months. My husband is so funny. When Austin was born I hung up his teddy bear blanket and a few wall hangings and pronounced I was done. I have spent my whole pregnancy thinking of ideas for Christy Lee's room. When my Mom was in town to watch Austin for our cruise she helped me decorate a lot and put up the butterfly scene above the crib and dressser. My husband says I should feel guilty because walking into Christy Lee's room is like a walking into a whole new experience. Christy Lee will be a whole new experience. What can I say, she is my baby girl!

Austin's Birthday!!!

We had Austin's 3rd Birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's this year. We let him pick where he wanted for his party this year. It was quite an adventure. We had lots of Austin's family and friends come. He loves Scooby so that was the theme, even though he is not my favorite cartoon. Daddy is the only one that lets him watch Scooby, it is all Noggin and Leap Frog Letters Factory when Mommy is around. Austin went crazy with the tokens and the Grandparents took shifts chasing him around. Austin had a blast!

A special thanks to Meredith for starting this blog. I am not computer savy so she did this for me!

Mexican Rivera Cruise

David and I went on our last vacation before Christy Lee arrives. We took a cruise to the Mexican Rivera. The cruise ship and ports were beautiful. Above all the food and relaxation were wonderful. We ate, then slept, then took pictures, then ate some more. The perfect prego vacation!
