Christy Lee definitely prefers to nurse than to eat food. She looked at her Mommy like what is this? Yuck, but I do like the spoon! I prayed for a baby that could nurse well and lets just say my prayers were answered. I really enjoy the bond that Christy Lee and I share.
I have some very sweet pictures of Christy Lee with her Grandmommy and Granddaddy and Nana and Papa. We are very lucky to have Nana and Papa living in town and to have Grandmommy and Granddaddy visit so much. We are sooo blessed with good family!
This month we went to visit my friend Meredith and her family in Colorado. It was so beautiful there and we had so much fun. Christy Lee really enjoyed the attention she got from the whole family. She really started rolling a lot while at Meredith's house and really enjoyed being outside. Austin was so happy to have friends to play with and he spent all day outside everyday. When we got home she started jumping in her jumperoo. She also loves her exersaucer and rides in her stroller. Her Mommy has to find places to put her because she is getting too heavy to carry everywhere at 15 lbs. She earned the name babychub! She is a good little nurser and makes me very happy!
Christy Lee was blessed by her Granddaddy Creed in Wills Point, TX this month. It was very special for us. Christy Lee got to meet her Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother and a lot of other family for the first time. Good friends of mine bought Christy Lee the beautiful Strasburg dress she is wearing for her blessing. She looks like such a doll. A big milestone for Christy Lee this month is laughing and giggling. Austin and his sister played a game of giggling together. Austin would pretend to fall down on the couch and make silly sounds and his sister would laugh everytime. She thinks her big brother is so funny. She also grabs lots of toys and brings them to her mouth. Much to her surprise she is rolling over from her tummy to her back.
We were very lucky to have Aunt Terri and my nephew Ethan visit. Ethan and Austin got to know each other a lot better and Aunt Terri spent a lot of time bonding with Christy Lee. Aunt Terri even taught me a few tricks like putting Christy Lee to sleep in the swing for her naps. Thank you for visiting us Aunt Terri!
I think that Austin is finally doing better with his jealousy towards his sister. He just adores his little sister and she just loves her big brother. She likes to smile up at her big brother and Austin loves to hold her. Christy Lee is fascinated with her big brother.
Christy Lee still loves to be carried around in the bellypack especially outside. This is also a picture of a beautiful little dress her Grandmommy made for her.
This is a picture of my sweet Christy Lee at age 2 1/2 months old. She is wearing one of my old favorites of Austin's baby outfits with her blue bow. She is such a joy these days. She smiles and coos and ohhhs. Everyone who meets Christy Lee says that she has the prettiest big blue eyes. She normally wears size 3 months but in the second picture she is wearing a 3/6 month old size outfit. I can not believe how big she is already. At her 2 month old doctor appointment she was in 50 percentile for height and weight and 35 percentile for her head. Her and Austin keep me extremely busy. She loves for her Mommy to carry her around in the belly pack or to two step around the house to country music!
Christy Lee arrived on December 17th, one day before my scheduled csection date. I wanted to be off the blood thinners long enough, so I denied I was in true labor all day. I decided to go to my son Austin's Preschool Christmas Program that night and videotaped from the aisle while having contractions. Then I went home for a shower and dried my hair, and off to the hospital we went. I was already dilated to 7 and we got to run through the ER with my arm around my husband and my Mom by my side and they sent me straight to the OR. Christy Lee was born at 10 PM. I thought it worked out perfectly. My doctor said that nurses are tough, referring to me smiling through a contraction while they did my epidural.
Christy Lee is such a joy in my life. I love her so much. My family feels complete now that I have my boy and girl. She is quite a handful just like my son. I wear a belly pack most of the day and she prefers for me two step around the house to country music at night before she goes to bed. I thought the second child was supposed to be easier and be able to sit on their own, but I can not resist her when she cries. She does love to sit in my lap and smile up at me. I can not believe she is 8 weeks old already. Time flies by faster when you have two!
